Artist Statement

If you make something with actual people, about real people, it will freak the public out far more than a work of fiction ever could. It’s why John Waters characters still sting 50 years later, they were real people doing what they did best. I paint the dueling sensations of a classical style on one hand and what you will find on the street on the other.  Those are my only criteria, it has to be beautiful, and I have to have the sensation of the street and people in their purest form.
