Hope Photo Project, une réponse artistique à un sentiment de désespoir
Il a commencé sa carrière en 1995, lorsqu'il a cofondé et construit le collectif d'artistes Positive Space à la Nouvelle-Orléans où il était galeriste, réalisateur, artiste et publiciste. Il s’appelle Jonathan Ferrara. Un artiste américain. En 2014, Ferrara a organisé l'exposition itinérante Guns In The Hands of Artists (2014-2018) à la Nouvelle-Orléans, puis The Aspen Ideas Festival, Washington University In St.Louis, Art Basel Miami Beach, Minneapolis et Washington DC où le sénateur Tim Kaine l'a parrainé à la rotonde Russell du bâtiment du Sénat américain et au musée d'art de l'université de Fairfield. En 2016, il a publié le livre très apprécié, Guns In The Hands of Artists avec des essais de Walter Isaacson, Gabby Giffords, le sénateur Tim Kaine, Richard Ford, Harry Shearer, entre autres. En 2017, il a fondé la Guns In The Hands of Artists Foundation pour étendre l'art public à plus grande échelle et les interventions à travers le pays sur la question des armes à feu et de la violence armée. C’est cet artiste qui n’est jamais en panne d’idées qui a créé le projet Hope Photo, une initiative qui vise à inspirer les communautés du monde entier, en ces temps de peur, en ces temps troublants où une poignée de mains, une accolade, un bisou devient carrément dangereux pour la santé de chacun. C’est en ce temps crucial que Ferrara inscrit la photographie comme écriture de lumière, à travers The Hope Photo Project, pour véhiculer un message d’espoir dans nos coeurs.

He began his career in 1995, when he co-founded and built the artist collective Positive Space in New Orleans where he was a gallery owner, director, artist and publicist. In 2014, Ferrara organized the traveling exhibition Guns In The Hands of Artists (2014-2018) in New Orleans, then The Aspen Ideas Festival, Washington University In St. Louis, Art Basel Miami Beach, Minneapolis and Washington DC where Senator Tim Kaine sponsored him at the Russell Rotunda of the United States Senate Building and the Fairfield University Art Museum. In 2017, he founded the Guns In The Hands of Artists Foundation to expand public art on a larger scale and interventions across the country on the issue of guns and gun violence.
